"When I did some research for this video my first instinct was to use the San cave paintings as the focus. But the San feel that the cave paintings are too commercial now, the spirit is elsewhere. I decided to use the San themselves as the focus. Using Photoshop and rotoscoping the original footage (with permission) from Vanishing Cultures: Bushmen of the Kalahari to create a type of animated cave painting. So that the energy of the San resonates in the Digital Age."
